HOVER ABOVE TO NAVIGATE.

Yesterday evening I attended my god brother’s wedding.

It was rather interesting, but it would be the last wedding I would attend from that family. That’s because all of them were married. So well, I’ll just have to look forward to my cousins’ wedding.

It was already 12.40am by the time I got home. I was so exhausted that I immediately showered and I slept. I had no time to switch on my computer to update at all. So, I had to update this afternoon.

Today, I woke up at 12. I had brunch just now. It was rather yummy. I’m planning to complete my homework today, and perhaps start memorizing my history notes.

I brought one whole box of tissue to school today and I used up half of it – which was 100 sheets.

I felt like a lousy imitation of the walking dead.

I filled up four full bags of tissues. It was a great achievement. I didn’t know that I could sneeze that much in a day. Actually, it’s juts water flowing out of my nose. It meant that whatever water I consumed simply flowed out of my nose, again. Of course, me, being a hygienic person, I put my used tissues that were overflowing with germs into a plastic bag. Putting them on my table would jeopardize my recovery. My table would be filled with germs and unless I clean it, the germs would stay there.

After school, when I got home, I took a quick lunch and went to bed. Waking me up at 5.30, my mother got me to go to the clinic. Finally, I see some light in my dark world. The doctor prescribed me some drugs. There were medicines for my sore throat, like the lozenges and the throat inflammation pill, and a tablet for phlegm, a bottle of cough medicine, an eyedropper for my swollen eyes and lastly a round white pill for runny nose.

I especially loved the cough syrup. It was called Prospan and it tasted really good. One more important thing – it does not cause drowsiness.

It’s rather late now and I’m feeling sleepy again. It seemed that when I’m sick I tend to get more sleepy than usual.

I feel awful now. It not only ends at awful, I also felt terrible, dreadful etc.

The list can go on and on, because I’m currently experiencing my worst flu of the year. Now I could finally understand why those Panadol advertisements always used a tap, because when the nose doesn’t recover, the mucus will continue to flow out of the nose. I can’t describe it well. I just know that it’s torturing me now.

I would choose vomiting over flu any day. At least vomiting last only a day, while flu can continue for a long time.

In school, I felt really tired. It must be the flu, and the sore throat, and the cough. Now, the sore throat and cough is gone, but the flu had gotten worse.

Ah, can’t I just recover?

Today was just another school day.

In the morning, I woke up at 6.24am. I always wake at this specific time every day. By the time I leave the house, it was 6.43am. Personally, I felt that I was very quick in getting ready for school in the morning. One more thing, I eat my breakfast while walking to school. After I met up with my friend, we walked to school together.

As I reached the classroom, it was already open and there were people inside already. The class quickly filled in, but there was no sign of Priscilla. I was wondering why she did not come today as we were having our Common Test today.

The test that we were having today was English. I think I will be able to pass it. After English, we continued with our regular lessons. We had a period of Math before double English. I am slowly getting more interested in Math lessons, and it is a good thing. Only when one have interest in a subject then they can score well on it. It applies to me. With my newfound interest in Math, I listened attentively. We learnt about the 3D figures and how to solve them using sine, cosine and tangent. It was really interesting and I was pleased whenever I managed to solve a question correctly by myself.

English was the same. I felt that all languages lessons were almost the same, albeit the English was so much better than Chinese.

After English was recess. I brought Udon miso soup from the Japanese store. The miso soup is not really good. I have tasted better soup than that, but it was in Japan, so I guess it should taste better in the country that it was from. I also completed my Chemistry worksheet during recess with the help of my friend. We had the same teacher, but she was in 3/5. She had already completed the worksheet so she was able to answer my queries on the worksheet. Sometimes, it’s really awesome to have a friend in other classes.

During Chemistry lessons, we revised on chemical calculations. I learnt a lot in this lesson. I was finally able to calculate them without looking at the steps. It was my achievement of the day!

Humanities lessons were my favourite class. I really liked it, partially because Miss Chen was our teacher, but also because I found humanities extremely fascinating. It was interesting to know about WWII. I definitely prefer History to Geography. I can’t imagine what would happen to me if I had chosen Geography instead of History. History was interesting. Miss Chen’s classes were always so amusing. We go through a SBQ worksheet, and somewhere in our double period she noticed paper bullets on the floor. Just before our 5 minute break, she got those who shot them to stand up. Then, she went around the class to count how many paper bullets she found. For every bullet she found they had to stay back for 5 minutes. It was really hilarious. Thankfully, I’m not one of those who shot them.

After school, I immediately went home. Tomorrow was Social Studies and there were three pages to memorize. I finished memorizing them by 8pm, but in between I took a lot of breaks.

Later on, I searched for medicines. I had sore throat and cough. It was so bad that I hardly spoke today. Hopefully, I’ll recover by tomorrow. Now, I am feeling dizzy. It’s the cough syrup, again.

Today was national day. I spent the whole day at home with my parents.

After I woke up in the morning, I realized that my sore throat had worsened. I searched for the medicine and consumed them before going for my tuition. However, I was unaware that the cough syrup would cause drowsiness. It was only until when I reached the tuition centre that I felt that something was wrong. I called my mother and asked her about it. She confirmed my suspicions – the cough syrup was the cause of my drowsiness.

After tuition, I quickly went home. I even cancelled my library trip because I was too sleepy. When I reached home, I immediately took a quick shower and I fell asleep the moment my head touched the pillow. While sleeping, I felt like I was drifting in and out of conscious. It was not a pleasant feeling and I told myself not to take cough syrup that will cause drowsiness again.

By the time I woke up, it was already dinner time. My mother cooked noodles for us. It was scrumptious. After eating the noodles, I watched the NDP on the television. My favourite part of the whole performance was the part where various associations marched in. Everyone looked so smart in their uniform. Also, their marching was synchronized and it was amazing to watch. They must have spent a long time practicing to achieve such splendid coordination.

After watching the NDP, I started using my computer. I surfed various website before deciding that it was time to post. After finishing this post, I’ll be taking my medicine again. I’ll need to experience the awful sensation of drifting in and out again.

‘Sigh’
